If you are looking for Christian romance then rest assured that you are not alone. You might have tried online dating websites, dating clubs and matchmaking services in the past, but found that the people that you were matched with just didn’t share the values and beliefs that you hold. Things don’t always turn out like Christian romance novels.  So what can you do to find your soul mate?

First of all, it is important to be open-minded and flexible when it comes to the possibility of meeting people. You are no longer limited to meeting people in bars, at work, or through friends. Join a book club, hang out at your local coffee shop, attend concerts and events, and simply do things that you enjoy. If you want to meet people with similar interests then you need to frequent places that you, yourself, enjoy going to.

There are also some Christian romance websites available on the internet. These sites have profiles, message boards, and chat rooms that are geared specifically toward Christians who are looking to find their matches. Although on a traditional dating website you can usually choose “Christianity” as an option, using a site that is designed specifically for Christian romances might be more suited to your needs.

When signing up for a matchmaking service or dating websites, it’s best to find reviews from other users before investing any money into the service. Although the website or service itself might offer testimonials, there is no real way to tell whether or not these are just paid actors. Instead, looking for reviews on outside websites is preferable.

Keep in mind, too, that there are different denominations when it comes to Christianity. If it is important for you to find another Baptist, for example, then you should definitely mention this in your profile. However, if you are open to all denominations of Christianity then this is worth mentioning as well.

If you don’t like the idea of dating online and finding a partner this way, then consider joining a local Christian organization. Many churches offer singles groups where you can attend mixers and meet other like-minded individuals who are also looking for love.

There are also some Christian organizations that are not church affiliated but still maintain Christian values. These might be a good place to look for love as well.

Letting yourself be open to the possibility of meeting someone is always the first step in starting your online Christian romance. You don’t want to necessarily wear your heart on your sleeve, but you do want to keep an open mind.
